If you’ve been waiting for the all-new Fuso Canter to arrive since it was teased last July, we have some good news. Fuso Philippines has officially launched the new 6-wheeler truck in the Philippines, and it is now available to order at authorized dealerships across the country. Although it may not seem like it, the Canter truck you see here is the all-new model. Compared to the 2019 model we reviewed and tested, the new Canter features a revised front fascia. There are new slimmer headlights and a more modern-looking grille. As for the bumper, it appears to be carried over but with the addition of larger fog lights. Yes, it looks more-or-less the same, but trucks often tend to do so. Interestingly, the model Fuso Philippines launched doesn’t resemble the futuristic-looking Japan-spec Canter model with upswept LED headlights and a unique-looking grille. Instead, it looks more like an evolution of the 2019 model. While the exterior changes can be hard to spot, the interior updates are more obvious. The biggest update would be the dashboard and the new twin-spoke steering wheel, now with telescopic adjust. Depending on customer preference, it is available with an audio head unit and air conditioning. Powering the new Canter truck is a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four. It makes 150 PS with 370 Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Gross vehicle weight (GVW) is rated at 8,550 kg, while payload capacity is either 6,125 or 6,090 kg, depending on the chosen specification. As with most trucks, prices were not mentioned since they vary depending on the specification. This means you’ll have to inquire with the dealer to get a quote.
