CHEVROLET Pampanga, in partnership with McDonald’s Philippine’s Kindness Kitchen, on Tuesday, December 7, brought cheers to Aeta communities in Porac town.
The special program, dubbed as “Chevy Cheers,” is part of the nationwide campaign of Chevrolet Philippines, which aims to serve 10,000 meals to communities in selected areas in the Philippines.
Laus Group of Companies Executive Director Carissa Laus said Chevrolet Pampanga is one of the eight Chevrolet dealerships across the country that were chosen to be part of the program.
“Out of the 23 Chevrolet dealerships in the Philippines, Chevrolet Pampanga was selected to participate in the program. It aims to share blessings and good will during this season of giving, and of course spread cheers among our Aeta brothers and sisters who are also affected by the ongoing pandemic,” Laus said.
She added that a total of 1,000 McDonald’s meals were distributed to residents of Barangay Villa Maria and Inararo in Porac town through the assistance of Social Action Center of Pampanga (Sacop), the service arm of the Archdiocese of Pampanga.
Meanwhile, Marilyn David, one of the beneficiaries of the program, expressed deep gratitude to Chevrolet Pampanga and McDonald’s Philippines for the assistance and good deed they have extended to their community.
“Bagamat pandemic, mas nakita namin ang puso nila na tumulong dahil hindi naging hadlang itong pandemic para magbigay ng tulong at magpasaya sa aming mga Katutubo kaya lubos ang aming pasasalamat,” she said.
Sacop P Executive Director Rev. Fr. Kenneth Alde, for his part, lauded the efforts of Chevrolet Philippines and Pampanga, and McDonald’s Philippines for their kind initiative to members of the marginalized sector.
“Napakalaking bagay ng mga ganitong programa dahil nadadala nito ang diwa ng Pasko sa ating mga kapatid na Katutubo, at nagbibigay ito ng pag-asa sa kanila ngayong nasa gitna pa tayo ng pandemya,” he said.
The Chevy Cheers run from December 6 to 10, 2021 and will roll out in four communities in the National Capital Region, and four other regional locations.
